In the context of the patient’s reintegration into his family, the Clinic offers some sessions of family psychotherapy. This type of psychotherapy focuses on family relationships and therefore the presence of all family members is necessary.
In family therapy the family is treated more like a “system”, like a “whole” than just a sum of its members. The therapist focuses more on the relationships among family members and less on the inner world of each member. Furthermore, the therapist is more interested in maintaining or solving a problem than the cause of the problem itself.
The aim of this therapy is to help the family recognize the way with which relationships and individual problems are caused and maintained by its members, to illuminate invisible aspects and needs of its members and suggest new and more functional ways to relate to each other.
